Hello once again! Here is my submission for A Fresh Cup of Coffee Scripture & a Snapshot. Thank you.
I was doing a study on Abraham and how he was called the Friend of God. His faith was epic and he was among many patriarchs that had all died in faith, without having yet received the promises from God. But they were assured and embraced them! And had a desire that was immensely better. Seeking their heavenly country (home). How encouraging and I want to do that as well. Such an encouraging example.
"Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.
For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
For yet a little while,
And He who is coming will come and not tarry.
And He who is coming will come and not tarry.
Now the just shall live by faith;
But if anyone draws back,
My soul has no pleasure in him.
But if anyone draws back,
My soul has no pleasure in him.
But we are not of those who draw back into perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul."

What an honor it must have been for Abraham to be called the Friend of God. His faith was certainly inspiring. Though he made many mistakes, he always turned back to trusting God completely. Thanks for sharing with Scripture and a Snapshot.
